The risks of mulching with Maple and Sycamore leaves
In a recent column you indicated to a reader that mulching with Maple leaves into the lawn was not a good idea. Is the same true of sycamore leaves?

Yes, any large leaf that blocks the sunlight will weaken the grass. Small leaves that will blow away during the winter will not harm the lawn as much. Just keep in mind that grass needs light.
