Expertise needed with lemon tree

I have an old lemon tree in my yard. It is around 40 years old. It used to produce fist sized, juicy lemons full of seeds. In the last year it is only producing small, dry, seedless lemons. Is this due to the age of the tree? What can I do to rectify?

Based on the brown color of the grass nearby and the dried up lemons I think your lemon tree is lacking in irrigation. Perhaps any soaker hose has become clogged or the warmer climate is affecting the tree. Try more water and a mulch to seal in moisture and you may still get some great harvests from that sourpuss yet. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
