Can I plant magnolia grandiflora near a retaining wall?
I want to plant a magnolia grandiflora ‘little gem’ in my yard near a retaining wall. I have heard that this tree can have extensive root growth at 4 times its height. I have not been able to confirm this on any of the local plant sites.

I have not heard that the magnolia \"little gem\" has an extensive root system. I would plant one near a retaining wall in my garden. Perhaps it is an old husband's tale. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
