Marianne's Response

Why are the blossoms falling off squash plants?

The blooms appear to be bitten off squash plants. I don’t think animals are biting off squash blooms because the blooms are still laying on the ground. Would a bug nip them off, and if so, what kind?

It could be an animal that bites the blossom and than spits it our. Many dogs and some deer will do that. There may also be a cut worm that will eat through the stem and so the blossom falls off. Check the undersides of the leaves for a green worm. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
