Pros and cons of using beer as slug pesticide

Slug bait…..why not have your readers use some cheap beer as a slug attractor and have them drown? Safe, if a loose cover is over a small container to keep rain off it can be very effective.

Yes! I think beer is a great lure for slugs and I often will recommend it. Beer does attract some dogs and wildlife however, and the little plastic bowls are not that attractive sitting amidst the plants so it is best to try and hide them - especially after they fill up with drowned slugs. Tiny slugs will not make it into the beer traps but prefer to hide amidst the crown of tender young plants. But I agree that beer can be an effective bait for slugs.
