There are two insects that will cause damage to both leaves and fruit. One is the Tarnished Plant Bug and the damage is more of black spots on the leaves and pitting of the fruit. Best control is good fall and spring cleanup so the insect cannot overwinter. The other is the thrip and the damage is leaves that are more discolored and fruit that is scarred rather than pitted. Insecticidal soap will control thrips if used every 3 days for 2 weeks when they are first active. I am not sure which insect is causing your damage but if you look closely or send me a photo of the damage I may be able to make a better diagnosis. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
