Caring for Digiplexis Illumination
I planted two Digiplexis Illumination in my yard this year for the first time. I saw them one day at the nursery. I had never seen or heard about them ever until that day. I just think they are really cool. What do I do when they are finally done blooming and doing whatever plants do? Do I cut them back? Do I leave them alone and do nothing? Do I need to dead head them and then cut them back until next year? I just want to know what is the best way to take care of this plant. Thank you.

I also am growing this new perennial plant in my garden for the first time and I love it. I have already cut my digiplexis back after the first flush of blooms and it is now flowering for a second time. Once these blooms are done I will cut it back to about 8 inches tall and hope it survives the winter. One of the wholesale growers of this new plant told me they were bred to rebloom all summer and into the fall as long as you keep cutting off the spent blooms. So far mine has been doing just that so I suggest you keep cutting off the spiky blooms as soon as they finish. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
