Marianne's Response

Tomatoes won’t ripen

My tomato plant has stopped growing tomatoes, and the ones I am getting have been green for about two weeks. Should I remove some of the leaves?

I doubt if removing some leaves will stimulate the growth of your tomato plant. It could be that you have a determinate variety—sometimes called a patio tomato—because this type grows only until it sets fruit. If the plant looks healthy, I would wait and see if warmer weather encourages the green fruits to ripen. If you want to grow a tomato plant that continues to grow fruit until frost, then chose an indeterminate variety and be prepared to stake or support it because they are taller and sprawling, but they are more prolific.
