How to permanently remove blackberry plants
I have berry plants with thorns in my front yard that grow every year, and the work to keep them trimmed isn’t worth the few berries we get at the end of the growth season. I have read that the only way to kill them completely is repeat rototilling. Is that true? If not, what do you recommend in order to get rid of these high-maintenance plants?

You can get rid of blackberries by spraying them with Roundup, especially in the fall when they are sending nutrients down to the roots. You can also prune them to the ground when they are in full bloom and this will bleed the stems so that most of the roots will die. I have also had good luck cutting them to the ground and then digging the root ball out. I have not ever had to do a repeat of rototilling. Are your berries with thorns blackberries or some other type of berry? Dig in!
