Marianne's Response
Nut grass, weed vines, and weed trees
In our garden we have a tremendous problem with nut grass and weed vines. In back yard we also have terrible weed “trees” that just keep coming back. Is there a spray or other solution to kill off these garden and yard problems with out killing our plants, yard, and bushes? Thanks!

Yes, there are many herbicides that will kill vegetation the most popular being Roundup. You must be careful to cover desirable plants with plastic before you spray the weeds as the herbicide will damage any plants when the liquid contacts the foliage. For weed trees you can cut the trunks to the ground and immediately apply Roundup at full strength using a paint brush onto the freshly cut trunk. You may also want to try a thick mulch on top of the soil to shade out any new weeds. Keep growing - but not weeds, Marianne Binetti
