Marianne's Response

Toadstool mushrooms in vegetable garden

We accidentally overwatered for a few weeks and now see toadstools. We dig them up every day but are worried the mushrooms make the vegetables unsafe to eat? Is it safe to eat the vegetables?

Marianne's Response

No worries, it is perfectly safe to eat the vegetables–but never eat mushrooms you cannot identify. The toadstools are often a result of soil that is high in composted manure and kept moist. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
