Some varieties of recommended plants may be invasive
More of a comment than a question. I’ve enjoyed your column for years. When you recommend a plant I would like to see you point out, more often, that other varieties of that plant may be invasive. In today’s Olympian, May 28, you recommended Georgia blue speedwell. Other speedwells can be invasive. I have Persian speedwell popping up at my house, esp. in sidewalk cracks. Not every pretty blue flower is welcome!

Thank you for reading the column in the newspaper. I am not the one that used the photo or recommended the speedwell. The editor of the Tacoma Newspaper picked out a photo of a blue flower and just added it to my column. It would not have been my choice. Thank you for alerting me about this.
