Growing tips for ninebark in the pacific Northwest

Hi Marianne,
I live in Auburn WA and was wondering if ninebark would grow here. Is there anything like it that will grow here?

The good news is the ninebark, both the beautiful wine colored variety called Diablo and the stunning golden ninebark called Luteus love our climate and thrive in the Pacific Northwest. There is also a variety of ninebark called Coppertina with foliage edged with a copper tint. This shrub is adaptable to many types of soil and does well in full sun or partial shade, and all varieties bloom with pink flower clusters in early summer.. Local nurseries will have all the varieties available by mid May. One more growing tip - if your ninebark outgrows your space you can cut it to the ground in early spring and enjoy fresh new growth on a renewed shrub. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
