How To Plant Crocus Bulbs

I’m getting ready to plant some crocus bulbs. I live in Auburn, WA. My bulb digger is so much bigger than a crocus bulb. Can I put more than one crocus bulb in a hole?

Yes! You can place bulbs shoulder to shoulder with just a bit of room between each bulbs. You don't want them touching each other as this could contribute to rotting - but bulbs planted very close may become crowded after only a few years and bloom less. A few inches apart is best. You can also layer bulbs on top of each other with a few inches of soil separating them. Think bigger bulbs down deeper and smaller bulbs on top. So glad you are planting crocus - you can look forward to a beautiful spring. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
