Marianne's Response

woltzen’s Question

My bleeding heart is so big it is covering some of my other plants. Can I prune the bleeding heart back so the other plants can be seen? If so how do I prune it. Thanks

Marianne's Response

Yes! Get snippy with your bleeding heart right after it blooms and cut it to the ground if you want. You can also dig and divide the underground tubers and move them to another shaded spot in the garden. Don't be conservative with this liberal growing bleeding heart. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
