No worries - your herb garden and new plants are just fine. As long as they were outdoors and they are not wilting suspect all if fine. Plants actually help rid the air of pollutants and the soil also cleans up toxins but if all you had around them were fumes and a bit of varnish spray drift, I would not worry about it. Herbs are known as easy to grow plants and a bit of fumes should not bother them at all. If you do see some wilting or damage on the leaves just cut the plants back to a few inches from the ground and the plant will send out healthy new growth. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
