Marianne's Response
Unidentified garden plant
My Mom has had this plant in her garden for years. We do not know what it is. The tops remind me of a turtle head with pink buds. It blooms in late August and early September.

Marianne's Response
What a great description as the common name of this plant is Turtle Head. Also called shell flower and an old fashioned member of the penstemon family. This hardy perennial will adapt to bog gardens and other moist soil areas. Enjoy, Marianne Binetti
