I think you mean Bat Face cuphea and this heat and drought tolerant evergreen is hard to 25 degrees so it may survive a mild winter in your area. It really prefers a warmer climate. In your area the salvias, hardy fuchsias and angel wing begonias would do better and are also humming bird magnets as well as many other colorful annuals and perennials.
