Lavender plants are easier to start from cuttings taking from mature plants than to grow from seed but if you are patient it can be done. Start the seed indoors 8 weeks before warm weather in your area - but again be patient as the seed can take as long as 3 months to sprout. Barely cover the seed with soil and set the flats or small pots on a warming pad to keep the soil warm or grow them in a bright and sunny room where the temp stays above 65 degrees. The first year the seedlings grow slowly but the second year they speed up and you may enjoy blooming plants. Make sure the seedlings and the plants always have good drainage as they rot easily from too much moisture.  Good luck and Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
