Marianne's Response

Peace lily (Spathiphyllum) is a tropical houseplant that thrives in warm shade and does not like direct sun.  Keep it indoors in the summer and winter near a bright window but away from direct sunlight as the leaves burn easily. Keep the soil moist and mist the leaves to increase humidity during dry weather. This plant also hates cold drafts so keep it away from open doors or windows in winter. You can pamper your plant by placing it on a saucer of pebbles filled with water to increase the humidity and feeding with Osmocote once a year in the spring. I think your plant will survive it's trip outdoors and you should enjoy the white blooms that appear in spring and fall. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
