So sorry but I am not sure what you mean by stems are shedding. Are blossoms falling off? Are the stems wilting?  Are leaves falling from the stems? Impatiens suffer from some diseases that make them wilt and die and they also suffer when nights get cold as they are a warmth loving annual plant.
