Soil additive
I have an area in my backyard that doesn’t get much sun. I want to plant Lilies of the Valley there but the soil is SO “clay-y.” What would be a good additive there?

Organic matter such as compost, rotted leaves even finely chopped wood chips will improve clay soil. Spread a 3 inch layer on top of the soil then dig this into the top six inches of the soil so that it mixes with the native soil. Over time an organic mulch will really improve your soil.
