This member of the pineapple family likes warm nights above 60 degrees and warm days at 70 to 80 degrees and high humidity like it would find in the tropics. Fill the cup of the leaves with distilled water or rain water and water the soil until you see it drain from the holes in the pot then let the soil become slightly dry before watering again. Provide light shade in hot climates (zone 13) but indoors  give bright light near a window. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
