I would recommend the True Dwarf  Boxwood Buxus sempervirens 'Suffruticosa' unless you live in a hot summer area with lime in the soil. You can control the size by pruning so it is more important to match the variety with your climate. A local nursery will be the best source of which boxwood adapt to your local conditions.
