Marianne's Response
Flip Flop

I have a raised flower bed, my first time, and my cucumbers are growing into the lawn so I want to build a trellis for them to grow up on. The only thing is that I had planted the green beans behind the cucumbers. Can I flip-flop the two without damaging them? The green beans are already bearing beans and I do see tiny cucumbers on the plants.

If you mean to dig up and transplant the beans and cukes in different spots I do not recommend that at this stage in their development. The cucumbers are sensitive to transplanting when fruit has set and the beans could drop blooms and harvest as well. That said, gardeners always prove me wrong so on a cloudy day go ahead and try your flip flop and if you water well the plants might just thrive after the transplant. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti.
