This looks like transplant shock and it happens when perennial are divided during the heat of the summer or the roots dry out during the transplant. Daylilies are tough plants so I think these will survive. Go ahead and cut off the dead brown leaves and by fall you should see signs of new growth. If you must divide or move plants in the summer do the dirty deed in the evening so the plants can recover during the cool of the night. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
