Fungal Blight

I was hit with a fungus blight earlier this spring, it took off like wildfire, I am in the middle of cutting everything down, and getting rid of it. I have a lot of Lily bulbs in the ground, is there anyway to save them, far to many to dig up. I am using a safe antifungal, seems to be working, but I’m not sure about the bulbs. Thanks

I predict your bulbs will be fine but go ahead and spray the fungicide on the stems and foliage of the lily plants now. As soon as the foliage of the lilies turns yellow cut the stems all the way to the ground. Add a fresh mulch of bark chips to smother any fungal spores that have fallen to the ground. Do not overwater. The underground bulbs can go dry once you cut them back. You may see less blooms next spring but slowly the lilies should regain their vigor. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
