Marianne's Response

Drooping adendiums

Used 20-20-20 fertilizer full strength, and now plants look wilted and drooping. Not Blooming.
Can they be saved?

Marianne's Response

You must have overfed your adendiums. A 20 20 20 plant food is too strong for many plants and in liquid form the fertilizer goes directly into the roots. A slow release plant food like Osmocote is much safer to use. The best thing to do now is to drench the plants with water. The goal is to dilute the fertilizer and reduce the burn to the roots. I suspect your plants will survive but first they may drop all their leaves and foliage. Make sure they can rest in the shade while they regrow and do not feed for at least a year.
