Marianne's Response
What kind of tree is this?
And would it be a good tree for a north texas yard?

Marianne's Response
The foliage looks like a thornless honey locust or Glendistsia Triacanthos Inermis and this is one tough tree that can handle cold as well as heat and drought once it is established. I would say it is a great choice for North Texas. Give it plenty of room as it can grow to 50 feet. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
