The brown leaves on your Thuja arborvitae is most likely from lack of water. It is possible that some root damage occurred from an underground rodent like a vole or mole and this would cause the browning on one side more than the other. Water well, firm the soil around the roots and trim out the brown parts. I am hopeful this shrub will survive. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
