Marianne's Response
Overgrown blue bush in my garden/overgrown weeds in my yard
How do I control both. I’d like to have a working garden. Grow my own veggies and fruit and perhaps share with my neighbors.
Create a community garden in the neighborhood using the 10 yards of my 10 neighbors.

Hi there. I am not sure of the question. Do you want to know how to control a blue berry bush? Or how to control weeds and overgrown plants on your property? I love the idea of creating a community garden with your 10 neighbors. Sounds like you may need all the gardening basics to get started. First let me know where you live and I can recommend Master Gardener classes or books by local gardeners. There are also some books about community gardens that could help get you started. All big projects like this start with the seed of an idea and this is just the starting point for learning how to grow food to share. You can lightly prune blueberry shrubs in early spring by shortening branches by one fourth or less and taking out all dead wood. Clear an overgrown garden by digging out weeds and debris as soon as the soil dries in the spring. Learn how to add compost to improve the soil, what crops grow best in your area and how to harvest and manage your community garden from local garden clubs, master gardeners and online videos or books.
