Marianne's Response

Golden Breeze Zebra Grass

Hello, I bought this grass last fall and planted it in an area that I thought was sunny enough (part shade) and it was growing, but it is yellow. Not enough sun or too much water. I just moved it to a more sunnier location. Thank you in advance for your answer. Elaine

Marianne's Response

I suspect not enough sun is the problem as the foliage appears floppy and this grass does prefer full sun. If the color of the foliage is bothering you consider that the variety you chose is called 'Golden Breeze' and does have a gold or yellow color to the foliage. Keep it well watering this summer and by next year it will be standing more upright and have a root system that will allow it to find moisture in the soil so you will no longer need to water as often. This is one tough plant so don't give up. I think moving it to the sun was a good idea. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
