Elephant Ears or Colocasia are tropical plants so need warm weather and night temps above 60 degrees. You should start the bulbs indoors with 4 inches of soil on top of the bulb. Keep soil moist at all times. Do not move outside until temp is 70 degrees and then grow in partial shade and feed about once a month. The plants are amazing with their huge leaves but unless you live in a warm tropical climate it is a challenge to grow these plants outdoors. Having a greenhouse to get them started is your best bet. If you have grown them before than perhaps you have a nice warm spot for them to flourish. April is a good month to replant the bulbs in a container indoors. Enjoy the big show this summer. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
