How to use organic material to build up garden soil

How do I build up the garden soil … it does not produce like it use to.

Organic matter is the answer to improving any soil, whether clay or sandy. Layer on compost, manure, grass clippings, sawdust, algae and other soil amendments to build up the living organisms and humic acid in your soil to make it more productive. You can also send a soil sample to your local university for a test to see if you are lacking in a particular nutrient or to find out if your soil is too acid or basic for healthy microbes to multiply. Don't worry because you can create great soil in just one season by adding lots of compost. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
