Marianne's Response
Did the leaves turn quickly and look wilted? Clematis often get clematis wilt disease a viral infection and there is no cure. Purple leaves are also a sign of cold weather so perhaps a greenhouse grown clematis planted outdoors is suffering from the adjustment. Do not over water or fertilize for a few weeks and see if your clematis outgrows the problem. Not much else you can do so good luck. Marianne Binetti
