Marianne's Response
Early September vegetables
Is it too late to plant vegetables? I live in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Marianne's Response
You have until mid-September to plant a fall crop of cool season vegetables. Plant seeds of lettuce, kale, Swiss chard, and onions now for harvest in six weeks or next spring. When a frost is expected, be sure to cover your young crop with floating row covers or portable cloche or greenhouse-like coverings. You also can plant in a cold frame so the young plants can be covered at night for protection from the cold.
Keep growing,
