How to identify a comfrey plant
Marianne, are you able to tell me if the plant in the attached photo is Comfrey? Someone gave it to me as Comfrey, but the back of the leaves are rather smooth then rough, like a comfrey plant’s leaves.

The photo you sent does not look like comfrey. Comfrey does have rough, thick-ribbed leaves so you are correct in being suspicious about the true identity. I am not sure what the white flowering plant is but the foliage looks like a primrose of some type. Of course you know not to eat a plant you cannot positively ID.
