Apple thinning
Hi Marianne
I always agonize more than I probably should when thinning my apples. I can’t help it. Other than leaving the largest little apple of the the bunch, is there any other criteria to choosing the best apple to leave? If I have two apples that are the same size, which one should I pick to cut or leave? The longer stemmed? The middle one? Should I use a dowsing rod? A psychic? I know it probably doesn’t matter much but I was wondering.

I do love your passion for your apples but I will act the mediator to the question of which apples to thin and say you should keep the largest apples. Removing the smaller fruit will give more space and nutrients to grow the best fruit. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
