How much Osmocote is needed with mixing with potting mix?

I am interested in using Osmocote Flower and Vegetable (14-14-14) in my potting mix when repotting my Adenium collection. I re-pot some annually and others every other year. I would like to use the fertilizer in my Coir/Pumice mix at the beginning of the season. Also my plants do very well with a liquid fertilizer as the growing season progresses, so I would be using that as well in a very diluted form each week. My question is, how much Osmocote do I mix per cu ft of media, or per pot size (anywhere from 4 inch to 14 inch pot)? 14-14-14 seems like a good ratio starting the season, but later on in the season I would have to be very careful about the amount of N that I apply and change to a higher P and K ratio. Hopefully I’ve explained this well enough. Thank you.

The amount of Osmocote used in a container depends upon where the container is placed. Outdoors, the recommending amount is 1 capful per 2 gallon pot. A capful is equal to 3 tablespoons. There is a handy spoon packaged with the 1 and 2 lb bottles and there is a measuring scoop in the 8 lb bag. Indoors, my advice is to work half the amount of recommended Osmocote into the soil at planting time. You can still use the liquid plant food as a supplement as the Osmocote is released very slowing into the soil. In the case of Flower & Vegetable (14-14-14), the release time is 4 months.
