Banana Shrub Help
I have a large Banana Shrub that I have grown and shaped into a tree beside and over my deck. It is completely infested with scale. I don’t want to spray anything and couldn’t reach the top anyway. Can I cut it back so no leaves are left without harming it? It has just finished blooming.

Yes, if a plant is heavily infested with the scale insect and you do not want to spray then cutting it back for a fresh start is a good idea. Good Luck! Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
