Marianne's Response

Sounds like you have a new garden to enjoy - great! The shrubs and tree you listed above are all going to appreciate a mulch to keep down weeds and water in the summer if the soil begins to dry. The rose needs fertilizer and I like to use Osmocote on all roses in late spring. I must say I do not know what type of plant a crabfire bird is. Once the flowers fade on the blooming shrubs, just snip off the faded blooms to keep them tidy. Sedums and yucca prefer full sun and do not need fertilizer. The shrubs can be pruned in spring or summer and pruning after blooming is the general rule of green thumb. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
