Brown tips on leaves is a sign that the plant is not absorbing water fast enough. You may be watering too much as water logged soil may actually prevent this plant from absorbing water. It can take full sun but you are right in giving the newly planted shrub extra shade as it adjusts. Too much fertilizer will also cause browning so do not feed it at this time. The best suggestion may be too dig up the rootball of the plant to see if the soil near the roots is wet - too much water or dry - not enough water for a newly added plant. This first year this plant does tend to struggle but then once the roots are established it will be better able to tolerate warm weather. A mulch of wood chips on top to the soil will help it during hot weather but make sure the water gets down past the mulch. The new growth is a sign the plant will survive - but brown on the new growth means the heat may be a bit much this year. I predict the plant will settle in this fall once the weather cools.
