White tubes beneath your weed roots may be knot weed
I am trying to clear for a garden. When I pull weeds by the roots there are finger size white tubes attached. What are these tubes?

It sounds like you may have the dreaded knot weed but if you send me a photo I can be sure. You are doing the right thing to clear out the weeds roots and all, but you may have to use an herbicide like Round Up to fully get rid of this weed and it's roots.
