Is well water contaminated?
Greetings Marianne from Tennessee. Now that we have a garden so glad I found this website. Have you read the article that was in the January 2012 issue of the SIERRA magazine, PARKINSON`S ALLEY? It is on the web also. I for one an concerned because I have been juicing carrots for 17 years from these farms and the last 3 years have been purchasing organic, however a recent study also found that the ground water wells are also contaminated.
Look forward to getting advice from you on better gardening.

I am not familiar with the article but do think you should continue to juice and enjoy your vegetables. We also drink from a well and I do not worry about ground water contamination as our state does annual water tests. The good of eating vegetables far outweighs any suspected danger of contamination.
