How much Osmocote for 1,000 gallons of compost?
We are master gardeners working to provide tomato and hot pepper seedlings in five-gallon buckets to about 220 low income families to grow on their balconies. How much Osmocote do we need for the roughly 1,000 gallons of compost we’ll be using to plant the seedlings in the buckets? We are in Montgomery County, Maryland.

I would suggest 1 tablespoon of Osmocote for each one gallon of soil. It would be best to add this to the soil around the root zone of each seedling to pin point that the nutrients will get to the roots of the young plants. What a wonderful project you have growing.
