Blueberry blues

I planted four blueberry bushes of different varieties 5 or 6 years ago. According to what I read they like acidic soil and lots of water so I provide them that. I cover them with nets to keep the birds and the squirrels out. Their output is meager to say the least, with not so many blossoms and even fewer berries. What can I do to enhance productivity?
