Marianne's Response

What’s eating my cilantro?

When I went to pick some of my newly planted cilantro a few days ago, I found that only the stems were left. What critter might have decided that my herb garden was its salad bar? Whatever it was, it appears to have like my marigolds as well. What, if anything, can I do to deter the critter?

Sounds like slugs or snails to me - they especially love marigolds. Put out some slug bait or a wad of damp newspaper near your tender plants. Slugs, earwigs or sowbugs will borrow into the folds of paper during the day and you can catch the guilty party. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
