Do you live in a warm climate? Bougainvillea will flower a month or two after a severe pruning as long as the weather is warm. You can encourage fast new growth by feeding with some Osmocote near the roots of the plant, but in many cases this fast growing vine needs no help to quickly pump out more new growth after it is pruned.
