Marianne's Response

Born2beme’s Question

It’s August in Boerne Texas. The local grocer has Carolina pepper plants on sale. Is it too late to bring them home and grow peppers? Are they passed in budding stage?

Marianne's Response

Bring home those peppers as long as they are budded. You can grow the plants outdoors until the nights grow cool near 40 degrees and then bring the potted plants inside so they can finish ripening. You will need a room with bright light and a spot near a sunny window to keep the pepper plants growing once fall arrives. If they never make it to maturity at least you will have the fun of trying. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
