Pruning tips for wisteria and best time to transplant rhododendron

I have an old wisteria vine that had become very invasive. I pruned it back radically and I don’t see any sign of life. Is it too soon to tell if it’s still alive? I also have two large rhododendron trees. When is the best time to try to transplant them?

It is too early to pronounce that wisteria dead or alive - but don't prune this vine in the fall as that is when it should be going dormant. The best to time to move or transplant rhododendrons is when the soil is damp and not frozen. Spring is a great time. Don't plant rhodies or azaleas too deep. They have very shallow root systems.
